Sumida Ku - Khaosan Tokyo Hostel

"Sumida City (Sumida Ku) was founded on March 15, 1947, when the Mukojima District of the north became one with the Honjo District of the south.
Sumida City has many cultural traditions and historical sites, such as the Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival, the cherry blossoms of Bokutei, the grand sumo championships, and shops of long standing. In all areas of the town, you can feel the unique ambience of the shitamachi (old- fashioned merchants’ town) that has been passed down through the generations since the Edo Period.
In addition, Tokyo Sky Tree® is scheduled to be open in the area close to Oshiage and Narihirabashi in 2012. It is expected to be a tourism hub for eastern Tokyo with many visitors from across Japan and overseas."

(Wiki)
